creating a Native American Artifact to go along with the Native
American picture book that you are writing in class.

create from the tribe you are studying in class:

Model of their home, tools,
clothing, or art

lives
Mobile
Make food samples (Bring food samples in on Friday the 23rd,
which is the day of our museum!)
Please see me for any other
ideas you may have!
Your artifact must be created
by you! You can not go to the store and buy the artifact.
You may buy your supplies to make your project.
2. On an index card, explain
what your artifact is and why it was important to your tribe.
This information should be based on your research.
Show off your knowledge of
the tribe!!
3. Make sure your artifact is
detailed, neat, well organized, and has correct spelling. Try your
personal best.
Follow the grading rubric to
see how you will be scored.
We will
celebrate by having a Third Grade Native American Museum where our
non-fiction books and artifacts will be displayed. This will be on
Friday, January 23rd, 2009 at
11:00. Parents are invited to attend. More details to
follow.
****Please let me know by this week if you
are having trouble getting materials or completing the project. I
will be happy to help, but not if you wait until the last minute.
This project will be counted as a major part of you assessment on
Native Americans.
